Born on August 20, 1945, in Salisbury, NC, James pursued a lifelong passion for dentistry, graduating from the UNC School of Dentistry in 1971. He led the Dental Program at Central Piedmont Community College from 1978 to 1981 and dedicated 39 years to private practice in Mint Hill before retiring in 2021. He was a proud member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Charlotte Dental Society.
Beyond his professional achievements, James was a gifted artisan. He found joy in woodworking and pottery, creating distinctive pieces that brought delight to many—especially his patients.
James is lovingly remembered by his wife, Gail Manzak Clark; his children, Adam Stefan Clark of Hachinohe, Japan, Aleksander Madison Clark of Knoxville, TN, and Meghan Rosilae Clark of Gibsonville, NC; his brother, John Clark of Wilmington, NC; and his sister, Susan Finsterle of Winterhaven, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Reid Clark and Janet Baker Clark.
