Emily Elizabeth Smith

Emily was a sweet and kind hearted teenager who loved her family and especially her nieces and nephews, Avery, Bella, Evan, Tyler and Justin. She also had a great love for reading and music and was especially inspired by song lyrics. Her favorite job was working as a beauty consultant at Sephora and as a server at Buca di Beppo.

Emily was predeceased by grandparents James Pratt and Marjorie Finlayson Smith of Columbia, SC and Marie DeStefano McKnight of Kingstree, SC. She was also predeceased by her uncle Robert McKnight of Columbia.

She is survived by her parents Stuart and Debbie McKnight Smith of Mint Hill, sisters Shannon, Alison & brother Craig Smith all of Mint Hill and sister Chrissy (Carlos) Calzadilla of Indian Land, SC. Emily is also survived by her grandfather James C. McKnight of Kingstree, SC.

A visitation will be held from six until nine o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 10th of September, at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, with a rosary taking place at eight thirty.

A Funeral Mass will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 11th of September, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with visitation held one hour prior to the service.
