The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Sunday at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 30, at St. Luke Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Gary, celebrant. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Born April 24, 1924 in Sicily, Italy, Mrs. Brucia was a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria Calvaruso. She attended St. Luke Catholic Church. Mrs. Brucia raised three sons who owned Carlos Pizza, now Fontanella Italiano Ristorante. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pietro Brucia.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Josephine Brucia, Joe and Marie Brucia, and Frank and Mary Brucia, all of Matthews; her sister, Vitina Calvaruso Palmeri of NJ; eleven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
