A lifelong Charlotte native, Joe married the love of his life, Ruth. Together, they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as part of an artillery unit. After his military service, Joe dedicated 42 years of hard work to Florida Steel Company, now known as Gerdau AmeriSteel, earning the respect of all who worked alongside him.
A man of strong faith, Joe was a longtime member of Memorial United Methodist Church. After moving to Mint Hill, he and Ruth joined Matthews United Methodist Church, where they were active members for over 30 years. Joe found a close-knit community in the Elizabeth Patrick Sunday School Class, counting its members among his dearest friends.
