Kathy worked for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department as a 911 operator for several years.
She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Michael Phillips; step-children, Amber, Mystain, Cody and Tim; two grandchildren; mother, Dean Towell and numerous aunts and uncles.
She is preceded in death by her father, Onie Clinton Towell.
A visitation with the family will be on Monday, September 26, 2016, from 11am-1pm at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd. in Mint Hill. A funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel. Interment will follow in Charlotte Memorial Gardens.
