

Mrs. Monhollen, 61, of Mint Hill, died Tuesday, January 18, at Rehab and Nursing Center of Monroe.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Pageland, SC.
Born December 7, 1949 in San Francisco, CA, Kris was the daughter of the late James Everett McClure and Lois Cowan. Following graduation from Central Piedmont Community College, she worked with Mercy Hospital and later the Seventh Street Detox Center. For the past 20-plus years, she worked with the Veterans Administration as a drug and alcohol therapist. She worked with veterans, conducted peace rallies and worked with Alcoholics Anonymous. Kris was a loving, caring and giving person. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Monhollen.
She is survived by her son, Jim Erhard and friend, Deanna Begley, of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, Daniel Robson and wife, Gina, of Berwyn Heights, MD and Matthew Robson and friend, Carol Emerson, of Mint Hill; one sister, Suzanne Parrish and husband, Jerry, of Westminster, MD; three grandchildren, Anthony Banks of Concord, Darea Cook of Monroe and Asheley Cook of Gastonia; one great-granddaughter, Ashton Brooke Taylor of Monroe; and nine nieces and nephews. Also surviving are lifetime friends, Donna Holzman-Bullock and Sylvia Falcon, and numerous friends from the V.A. and A.A. communities.
