

Mrs. Lea Etta Garner Snider, 97, of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully in the presence of family on Friday, December 30, 2023. Born on December 2, 1926 in Denton, NC, she was the daughter of Sylvester and Wilma Garner.
Mrs. Snider graduated from Denton High School in Denton, NC. She retired from the Charlotte Coliseum after 30 years as head of the bookkeeping department. Mrs. Snider dearly loved being a part of Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Denton all of her life.
Lea Etta was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ray Snider; her brother, Steve Garner; and her son, John Snider.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Snider Daugherty (John) of Conway, SC and Donna Snider Porter (Derwin) of Murrells Inlet, SC; her daughter-in-law, Kay Snider of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Terry Crowe (Michele), Rebekah Ashlock, Alison Wofford, Gray Porter (Brittany), Zac Porter (Lindsey), Kenan Medlin (Chris); her great-grandchildren, Kaleb Crowe, Rylie Crowe, Jenna Rochelle, Lilly Rochelle, Garrett Rochelle, Kinsley Porter, Malachi Wofford, Maclaren Porter, Mady Wofford, Benjamin Porter, Lennox Porter, Connor Ashlock, Anya Medlin, and Sabine Porter; and many other loving extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 4 at McEwen Funeral Service Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 335 Toms Creek Church Road, Denton, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Snider’s family would like to thank nurse Stephanie Bowers, aide Karen Wigfall and the staff of Amedysis Hospice for their loving care during the last months of her life.
