Mary McCall Tucker

Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was out going and was always giving to others. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family. She was a great care giver and she spent most of her life watching over her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of Wilson Grove Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Until her health began to fail, she was with her church family every Sunday that she was able.

She is survived by her daughters; Phyllis Simpson (Mott) of Marshville, NC, Joyce Burris of Mt. Pleasant, NC, and Janet Mathis (Steve) of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Ethel Thompson, Rachel McCall, Carolyn Wright, Beverly Williams, and Jane Clark; brothers, Lawrence McCall (Ann), Gene McCall, Henry McCall, Van McCall, George McCall and James McCall.

Grandchildren; Tim Simpson (Dana), Cheryl Muldrow, Teresa Davis (Paul), Aaron Burris (Gail), Cindy Layton, Matthew Burris, Nathan Burris (Ashton), Wes Mathis (Sandy), Rodney Mathis (Bethany), and Stephanie Mathis.

Great-grandchildren; Mattie Simpson, Hannah and Emma Crumpler, Lily and Heather Davis, Ashlyn and Chandler Burris, Tyler Layton, Ryan, Andrew and Kyle Burris, Dade and Edyn Burris, Noah and Cole Mathis, and Ben Mathis.

Great-great grandson; Tannon Burris. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Wilson Grove Baptist Church, 6624 Wilgrove Mint Hill Road, with a visitation one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Wilson Grove Baptist Church.
