Patricia Sampson Blue

Born June 3, 1945, in Robeson County, North Carolina, Mrs. Blue was a daughter of the late Leander Sampson and Ruth Fields Sampson. She attended Fairgrove School. She retired from Baldor Electric after 25 years of exemplary service.

Mrs. Blue was an avid card player and received many awards and trophies in bowling. She was an amazing baker. Mrs. Blue was an avid fan of many sports including UNC Tarheels, Redskins, NASCAR, and Dodgers. She will be remembered for her generosity and kindness. She was loving, giving, hardworking, and selfless person.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blue was preceded in death by her brothers, Roger Dale Sampson, Grady Lee Sampson, and Carl Bradford Sampson; and a sister, Ann Elizabeth Sampson.

She is survived by her loving husband, Harland Blue of the home; her children, Missy Blue of the home, Kevin Blue and his wife, Kim, of Concord, and Amy Howell and her husband, Jimmy, of Charlotte; and her sisters, Joyce O’Neal of Charlotte and Judy Hunt of Midland. Also left behind to cherish her memory are eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 10:00 am Monday, January 27, 2025, at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel in Mint Hill, with a funeral service following at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be held later in the afternoon at 2:30 pm at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairmont.
