Reid Tull, Jr.

Reid was born June 22, 1941, in Salisbury, NC. He started playing golf at the age of 13 at Salisbury Country Club. He played golf his entire life and became a golf pro at several golf courses and resorts in the United States. Reid got to know, play and work with some of the most well-known names in professional golf.

Reid’s passions were golf and skiing. He enjoyed volunteering on the courtesy ski patrol at Sugar Mountain for many years as well as traveling out west to ski at some of the best ski resorts.

Most of his career was in the insurance industry where he consistently earned awards for excellence in his field.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, as well as a great friend to those who knew him. He loved the Lord and was a Christian example to all.

Reid is survived by his wife, Barbara; his son, Kevin Tull (Wendy); daughter, Kelly Shelley (Eric); grandchildren, Jenna Shelley, Brynn Shelley, Caden Tull, Caroline Tull, and Bogdan Tull, who loved their Poppy; mother-in-law, Helen Gladden; sister-in-law, Jeanette Williams (Larry); sister-in-law, Becky Price; brother-in-law, Mark Gladden (Shay); brother-in-law, Jon Bailey; and many special nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by parents, Grace and Reid Tull; and sister, Sally Bailey.

A visitation for Reid will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Chapel Harris Campus, 7200 E W.T. Harris Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28215, with a memorial service following at 11:00 am. The service will be Livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking on the "Join Livestream" link below.
