Richard Max Edwards

He was born on October 7, 1957 in Charlotte, NC and graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1975. Richard worked with his extended family, Clariant, for 19 years in Logistics. He enjoyed all sports and taking trips to the beach with Julie. His number one priority was his family. He loved them unconditionally.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife of 32 years, Julie H. Edwards; parents, Barbara Max and Flave O. Edwards; sister, Teresa Edwards Patrick (Jay); nephews and nieces who he loved as his own children, Michael Skipper, Joshua Skipper, Kat Davis and Amber Davis; parents of surviving wife, Rose K. and Gary Herring; sister-in-laws, Shearon Skipper (Mike), Kelly Edge (Alan) and Jan Davis (Greg).

A memorial service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 4th of March, 2017 at Matthews United Methodist Church, 801 S. Trade St., Matthews, NC 28105 with visitation to immediately follow the service. Pastor Paul Craig will be officiating.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Levine Cancer Institute and Duke University Hospital for the care and compassion that they gave to Richard.
