Robert "Charlie" Vance Pressley

Charlie, 80, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on September 25, 1943 to the late Carl Monroe and Loma Whitley Pressley. He was preceded in death by his sister Carol Braswell (2013) and brother Carl Pressley (2024).

He is survived by Brenda, his devoted wife of 39 years, sons Joel Mullis (Wendy Weber), Brad Pressley (Irene Nguyen), daughter Brandy Jones (Chris), six grandchildren (Olive Mullis, Josie Mullis, Sunny Mullis, Wyatt Mullis, Samuel Jones, and Harper Jones) and faithful feline companion, Bozo.

Professionally, Charlie began working for Carroll Aligning Service in Charlotte, at the early age of 19. He devoted 43 years of service and established lifelong friendships prior to their closing. In retirement, Robert enjoyed spending time with his growing family, especially his grandchildren.

Charlie maintained an abundant garden and enjoyed helping can fruits and vegetables each summer. His tomato yield was always a source of pride, and he gave as many away as he saved for himself.

Charlie’s favorite times of the year, besides planting his garden, was family vacations to the beach and trips to the mountains with close friends.

A visitation for Charlie will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
