Shirley McLean Saine

She is survived by her husband, Bill Saine; and her daughter, Deb Saine. Bill and Shirley were married for nearly 63 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie Franklin McLean and Esther Bullock McLean; and her two sisters, Esther "Jackie" O'Briant and Annie Kate Stephens.

Shirley was born on September 16, 1936, in Lumberton and grew up in Rowland. She graduated from Rowland High School, attended Woman's College and then moved to Charlotte. She worked as an administrative professional before concentrating on managing the details of the home after her marriage. As a mother, she was fully invested in helping her daughter with details large and small - from birth onward.

Shirley possessed many talents including, but not limited to: gardening, cooking, creating distinctive design within the home, generously listening to others, providing spot-on guidance, and making a wonderful impression on anyone she encountered. She truly made her family's house a home.

Shirley's family would like to acknowledge the strong support and encouragement of her church family at Mint Hill Presbyterian Church and her dear friends, as well as the nurses and other medical professionals who provided compassionate care for her during her illness.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mint Hill Presbyterian Church, 8528 Brief Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Graveside services will be private.
