

Mr. Timothy Keith Martin, 46, of Mint Hill, NC passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2023 from complications arising from a fall while skating, when visiting relatives in Syracuse, NY. Tim was born January 3, 1977 in Charlotte, NC, he is the son of Richard and Teresa Martin.
In his early adult years Tim had the opportunity to travel the world visiting places like South Korea, Indonesia, England, Scotland and his beloved Ireland. Tim was extremely proud of his Irish heritage.
In his teen years, Tim was an accomplished athlete excelling in football, basketball and baseball. In later years, he enjoyed playing golf.
Tim graduated from Charlotte Catholic High School and attended UNC-Charlotte.
Tim owned and operated Tallan Studios which he founded in 2013, specializing in high-end entrances and doorways. Later in 2018, he established Tallan Home Services. Tim was extremely talented in carpentry and home improvements and has made true works of art with wood and stained glass design.
Always willing to lend a hand or fight for the underdog, Tim was the most giving, generous and caring individual. Whether it was delivering food to the homeless shelter or building a handicap ramp, Tim was always helping others in need. His compassion and empathy was far reaching and truly his most enduring quality. Tim had a good heart and set an example for all to follow.
Tim was married to the love of his life, Suzanne Dickinson for 15 years before her passing in 2021. He was a loving and devoted husband and cared for Sue at home throughout the duration of her illness.
Tim was a dedicated father, taking his son, Padraig, on many adventures and was a loyal and dedicated friend to many.
Tim is preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne Dickinson, grandparents, George and Mozelle Scherger, David and Dorothy Martin and father-in-law, Dave Dickinson.
He is survived by his son, Padraig Martin; his parents, Richard and Teresa Martin; his two sisters, Sherry Elber (Niles) and Katie Efland (Lindsay); his six nieces and nephews, Morgan Pope (Justin), Emily Anspach (Jacob), Allie Elber, Ryan Elber, Robert Dickinson (Caitlin) and Sara Dickinson, his mother-in-law, Marlene Dickinson, sister-in-law, Dianne Buie (Jack) and brother-in-law, Michael Dickinson (Jane).
A Celebration of Tim's Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC. A visitation will be held prior from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC.
To honor Tim’s spirit of giving, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the American Red Cross.
