

As a young man, he gained a strong foundation in the Lord, through his grandmother, Hazel Hartis’, teaching of God’s word. Philippians 4:13 states, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Eric lived his life by this every day. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. He was devoted to making sure his family was always taken care of and his girls were given the best of everything. He was a devoted friend with a contagious laugh to all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Angela Shane Hartis;and three beautiful daughters, Hazel Amanda Hartis, Emily Joyce Hartis, and Katelynn Jordan Hartis. He will be greatly missed, but his memory will forever live on through his loving family!
His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
