Charlie E. Young

He was born on October 25, 1950 in Ft. Payne, Alabama to the late Reubin and Melba Young.

Although born in Alabama, Charlie has lived in the Chattanooga area most of his life. He was a graduate of Tyner High School, where he played football and was a stand-out athlete in track. He was also a graduate of Cleveland State Community College. He was the Operation Manager at Southern Credit Union for over 20 years.

Charlie never met a stranger and he was friendly to everyone. He had a great sense of humor. He loved traveling and the mountains. His hobbies included the 3 W’s, the weather channel, westerns and WWII. He will be missed greatly.

Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Cindy Young of Harrison, Tennessee, daughter, Kayley (Taylor) Brown of Hixson, Tennessee, son, Kyle Young of Hixson, Tennessee, grandson, Cooper Brown, sister, Donna Metts and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Greenwood Cemetery, 1954 Greenwood Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37406 with pastor Sterling Jetton officiating.
