He was the son of the late Jack and Jennie Brown and was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jack and Bill Brown.
Dan worked for the Chattanooga Fire Department for 15 years and later owned and operated Lookout Welding and Fabricating Company with his two brothers. He retired from Card-Monroe Inc., after 14 years of service.
He was a veteran of the U S Army having served in Germany and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a model airplane enthusiast and was a member of the Model Airplane Club.
Dan was a member of Bayside Baptist Church and the Jubilee Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Betty J. Brown, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, two nephews, Mike Brown, Daryl Brown, niece, Debbie (Russell) Collins, all of Georgia, and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm., Monday, March 16, 2020, in the Valley view Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Grady Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites being conducted.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:30 pm, Monday, March 16, 2020, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
