Doris Evelyn Murphree Farmer

Doris Evelyn Murphree Farmer, 96 of Ooltewah, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Monday, November 28, 2022. She was born in Alton, AL to the late George Harvey Pond, Sr. and Flora Bell Lankford Pond. Evelyn was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church since 1946. She retired from Kingwood Pharmacy after 35 years of service. Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Perry C. Murphree; second husband, J. Pat Farmer; son, Robert Wayne Murphree as well as all of her siblings. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Jean (Michael) Rutemeyer of Ooltewah, TN; grandchildren, Raymond “Ray” Cooke, Jr. of Ooltewah, TN, Renee Eldridge of Ooltewah, TN, Amy (Kenneth) Pearson of Hixson, TN and Lori Manda; great-grandchildren, Brandon Eldridge, Kristen Pearson and Ben Pearson; her step-children, Matt Farmer, Sally Rossmann and Alice Lynn; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to April Shaw for the love and care she showed Evelyn. A celebration of Life service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, December 1, 2022, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her first husband, Perry C. Murphree.
