James Curtis Hodge, 77, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Born on January 11, 1935 in Tullahoma, TN, he was the son of the late Rev. Joseph and Lyda Hodge and was also preceded in death by a son James E. Hodge; two sisters, Martha Helen and Joann Hodge. He was a member of the Ooltewah Church of God where he served as Treasurer and on the board of Trustees and was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served with the 4th Armored Division in Europe. Survivors include his wife, Ann Hodge; daughter, Carolyn (C.J.) Kruse, Ooltewah; two sons, Michael (Amanda) Hodge, Cleveland, TN and Ronald Hodge, Chattanooga; five grandchildren, James (Saron) Knight, Ricky, Ashley, Jeremy Stanton and Trever Hodge; great-grandchildren, Conner, Damien Knight and Makenzie Shook;two sisters, Louise (Mitchell) Conerly, Bessemer, AL and Linda (Lloyd) Sims, Dunlap, TN; brother, Ralph (Rosa) Hodge, Bessemer, AL. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Edmon Stallings officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens East. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
