

Grant Lamar Burton, age 82, of Chattanooga passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
He was the son of the late Rev. E. W. and Beulah Burton and was preceded in death by his wife, Delorees G. Burton and brother, Bill Burton.
Lamar was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served in the Korean War.
He retired from Combustion Engineering in Chattanooga.
He was a member of Ooltewah Church of God.
Survivors include his son, Rick (Angie) Burton of Chattanooga; daughter, Cheryl Burton Fentress of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Brooke (Rodrigo) Rios and Bradley Fentress and Haley and Cal Burton; two great grandchildren, Santiago and Luca Rios; two sisters, Doris Willis, Sue Cox; brother, Jim (Carolyn) Burton, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m., Monday, September 14, 2015, in the Valley View Chapel with Rev. Edmond Stallings officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Cal Burton, Bradley Fentress, Jim Beasley, Butch Cox, Bill Gwaltney and Raymond Neal serving as pallbearers. Bill Harbison and Jim Burton will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2015, at the funeral home.
