Lois Ann was my roomate at Bryan College in the spring of 1966, and we became friends;  I visited in her home and met her oldest sister. She was the most loving of people and full of energy.  We were not always in touch through the decades, only occasionally, but I visited in her home two or three times, met her children when they were young.  She sometimes called me, and she always expressed her love for the Lord and for her children through the ups and downs of life. I can still hear her voice and her deep southern accent. To Lois's Family,  I met Lois through our Sunday School class at Concord.  She was always so sweet.  I appreciate the verses she shared that touched her and her words of encouragement after my father's death.  She will be missed. Lois was my neighbor at Timber Ridge. I will never forget when my son was in the hospital and weighed only 11 pounds at 1 years old. Lois would often ask about PJ every chance she got and I explained to her that PJ was having trouble gaining and maintaining his weight. She told me she had a book that taught children how to eat a balance diet. She gave me that book and I read it to PJ during his meal times. Today, PJ is 3 years old and weighs 33 pounds thanks to Lois. Sadly missed and never forgotten. Sincerely, Binta, PJ and Vivian Tolbert

If this has been your commitment and testimony to Christ and your life, you will hear the voice of God say the words “Welcome Home”.
When you make your transition from earth to heaven the sound of “Welcome Home” are the words that every traveler, believer, Christian longs hear.
It means that you are in a place where you are fully embraced, welcomed, appreciated, loved, and enjoyed.
Most of all it means, you are in the present of Jesus and those who love you.
While the beautiful memories of your mother Lois Ann remain in our hearts, there is a special comfort knowing that the words “Welcome Home” have been heard in heaven.

To Nancye, Laura, and Sandy
I met your mother when she moved to Chattanooga and she was in about the fourth grade and Brenda in the 6th.  Right away we knew we were in the present of spiritual and wonderful people.  I have been blessed knowing your mother and will miss her smiles and laughter.  In fact I saw her at the East Ridge Wal-Mart about two months and I waited to get over to say hi…She looked radiant and beautiful as she enjoyed the conversation of the people in her present. You three children were your mother's life and she loved each one of you dearly.
I like the pictures that these words give us…Remember this one whose love exceeded ours has taken Mom with his heavenly powers .. she is all through with the earthly things, and now is sheltered beneath her wings....If she could speak to you now she'd say: You'll understand it all someday, for I have went just beyond the blue, and there I'll stay and wait for you...And we'll walk hand-n-hand together, to our heavenly home forever....

Nancy Mercer-DeFriese

Lois Ann was one of the first people I met, at church, when I moved to Chattanooga from Dalton in 1965. She made me feel welcome to the Youth Group, and we had many spiritual discussions. More recently, she became a fellow church member at Concord Baptist Church.  Thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time.  Faith, family, and friends will give you strength.
