Marcus “Gene” Burke, 80, of Collegedale, TN, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015. A native of Statesboro, GA, he has been a resident of Collegedale for the past 58 years and was a member of the Ladd Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was a retired Elementary School Teacher from Westside Elementary School in Catoosa County. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions be made to the County Haven Retirement Center, 120 Country Haven Lane, Ringgold, GA 30736, where they provided loving care for Mr. Burke. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Valley View Chapel with Pastor Dale Tunnell officiating. Interment will be in the Collegedale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 2-3 p.m. before the service at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
