Marie McMillan, 85, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at her residence. She has been a resident of the Chattanooga area all of her life and was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Braly and a brother, Jesse L. Green, Jr. She worked as a poll worker at the Snow Hill Precinct and was a volunteer at Snow Hill Elementary as a reading tudor. Survivors include her husband, L.B. “Red” McMillan; four sons, T. Michael McMillan, Memphis, TN, J. Pat McMillan, Harrison, Jeffery S. McMillan and Joe S. McMillan both of Ooltewah; sister, Dr. E. Ruth Green, Statesboro, GA; special niece, Donnie Braly King, Atlanta, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Russ Fairbanks officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made to the American Red Cross at redcross.org. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
