Mitchell, affectionately known as “Drivby”, took great pride in his twenty-six years of service as a Sergeant in the Chattanooga Police Department. During his distinguished career in law enforcement, he also served in the National Guard and as a Deputy for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department. He is remembered as a courageous and exceptional leader with a wonderful sense of humor.
His personal energy for life was evident in his many passions and hobbies. He loved to golf, travel and spend his winter Saturdays supporting his beloved Vols. His greatest passion, however, was spending time with his wife, children, family, and many friends.
