He was the son of the late Homer F. and Zola L. Clark and was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Clark and sister, Irene Whittle.
Walter was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired after 35 years of service with Sears.
He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lorene Wilson Clark, son, Joseph Franklin Clark, grandson, Colton Joseph Clark, brother, William Clark, sister, Mabel McKee, all of Chattanooga, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Nix, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Tyner Cemetery with military rites being conducted.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
