She was preceded in death by her father, LuVerne Huettl.
Wanda was born in North Dakota and has been a longtime resident of Ooltewah, Tennessee. She retired from the United States Postal Service.
She served for decades as a member of the parish at St. Stephen Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of forty-five years, Stan Bird, retired from Combustion Engineering, three children, Connie Bird, FL, Cathy (Jay) Warren, Hixson, TN, Randy Bird, Boston, MA, mother, Lorraine Huettl, seven siblings, LuVerne Huettl, Patricia Burckhard, Alice Zeiszler, Tom Huettl, Jeri Saenz, Daniel Huettl, Nina Huettl and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 25, 2012, at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Diaz officiating. Burial will be held in the Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
