Mr. Davenport was born and raised in Chattanooga. He graduated from City High School and retired from Central Soya as a Maintenance Supervisor and also retired from WalMart garden center. Bill was of the Baptist faith, a US Air Force veteran and an avid UT Vols fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and William Davenport, Sr.; brother, Jack Davenport; and sister, Bobbie Davenport.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Davenport; daughter, Robin (Michael) Bales; grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Westmoreland and Zachary (Danielle) Bales; great-grandchildren, Cayden and Khloe; sister, Nancy Webster; and sister-in-law, Ruth Davenport.
There will not be any visitation at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be at 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Patrick officiating and military honors.
