He retired from Container Service Corporation in Ringgold, Georgia.
He was a member of Freedom Church of God.
Survivors include his wife Pearlie Ozella Spangler, of Chattanooga, three sons, Kenneth Lee (Darlene) Spangler, of Chattanooga, David Newton (Kim) Spangler, of Hogansville, GA, Markus Luther (Linda) Spangler, of McDonald, TN, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three brothers, Junior Spangler, Charles Spangler, both of Trapp, KY, Ernest Spangler, of Harrison, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Landon Harden officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens – East.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home.
