Isabelle Marion Pastin died on January 26, 2021 with her daughters at her side.
Isabelle Pastin (nee Stone), beloved wife of the late Max Pastin, married for 58 years until his death in 2006. Loving mother of Susan Stone and Fredda. Devoted grandmother to Samantha Shannon, Zarin Stone, Sabrina Brown, and Paris Adler. Great-grandmother to Maxine McGuire and Arlo Brown.
Prolific artist, chef, and gardener, Isabelle took up oil painting at the age of forty. In her studio, she often had several large canvasses in progress. Her work was shown in galleries in the Chicago area, St. Louis, and Manhattan. She also worked in watercolor, clay sculpture, woodcut, and lithography. She dabbled in interior design and was a photo stylist for magazines. She signed her paintings IMP.
Outdoor internment will be at Rosehill Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held after covid, when it is safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to the Clean Air Task Force.
