Kerry Lukaszewski

Kerry was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by family, tradition, and humor. He shared 38 loving years of marriage with his wife, Diane and he spent more than 35 years working as a technical engineer.

Fishing was Kerry’s true passion and his favorite outdoor activity. Some of his happiest days were spent at The Shady Nook Resort in Hayward, Wisconsin, casting a line on the Chippewa Flowage. Fishing was more than a hobby—it was a way to relax, reflect, and connect with the people he loved. Later in life, he even took up ice fishing, creating more special memories alongside his family.

Above all else, Kerry cherished his family. He was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Megan, and his son, Alex, and a caring father-in-law to Lauren and Matt. His greatest joy in life was being grandpa to his two granddaughters, Emma and Lily, who brought him endless joy and laughter. His love for his family was constant and unmistakable, felt by everyone who knew him.

He was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make people smile. Kerry had famous dance moves to the song “Shout,” never missing a chance to get up and make others laugh. He also had a special talent for turning just about anything into a song—often singing spontaneous lyrics that became unforgettable tunes for his family.

Kerry enjoyed the comforts of home, especially classic entertainment. He loved The Andy Griffith Show, NYPD Blue, fishing programs, and his favorite movies, Jurassic Park, Jaws and A Christmas Story. A loyal sports fan, he proudly supported the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears every season. He took joy in witnessing a final Bears playoff win against the Packers.

One of Kerry’s favorite summer traditions was attending the Crystal Lake Lakeside Fest on the Fourth of July, where he looked forward to freshly squeezed lemonade, funnel cakes, Polish food, and fireworks—simple pleasures that perfectly reflected his love for tradition, good food, and good company.

Kerry is survived by his wife, Diane (nee Spangler) Lukaszewski; his daughter, Megan (Matthew) Springer; his son, Alex (Lauren) Lukaszewski; his beloved grandchildren, Emma Lukaszewski and Lillian Springer; and his sister, Debra Mestan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Florence Lukaszewski; his niece, Melissa Mestan; his brother-in-law, Anthony Mestan; and his father-in-law, James Spangler.

Kerry will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, his love of family, and the joy he brought into everyday moments. His laughter, songs, dance moves, and stories will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A visitation will be held at Ridge Funeral Home, located at 6620 West Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60638, on January 19th, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Daniel the Prophet Church, 6612 W 54th St, Chicago, IL 60638, on January 20th, 2026, at 10:00 am.

A committal service will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, Justice, IL 60458.
