Allan was born in Brandon, Manitoba on February 22, 1933, to dairy farmers Gordon and Olive Rendall. In 1944 the family and cattle moved to Chilliwack to the dairy farm that Allan would eventually take over in 1964. As a youth, Allan was involved in high school sports (esp basketball and track and field) and was active in the Chilliwack 4H Holstein Club .
Allan held many jobs in his lifetime and never shied away from a hard day's work or a request for help from his many friends and family members. He loved woodworking, curling, fishing, camping and spending time at the hockey rink watching his grandsons play. Allan was active in the community through the Fraser Valley Milk Producers Association, Chilliwack Plowing Society, Mt Cheam Pony Club and the Chilliwack Fair where he showed his purebred Holstein cattle and his precious Shetland ponies. He dreamed of joining the Atchelitz Threshermen’s Association and fishing when he “retired”. It wasn’t unusual for Allan to make new friends everywhere he went and got to know many of his neighbours on his daily morning walks at Clover Creek.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 71 years, Marion; daughters Sheena and Margaret and her husband Robert; their two grandsons Colin (Marina) and Cameron (Robyn) and three great grandchildren, Jessabelle, Cade and McKinlee. Allan has one surviving sibling, Doreen. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Olive, his brothers Elmer and Morley and his son Steven.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home in Chilliwack on October 31, 2026, at 2 PM. All friends and family are welcome.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in their honor to BC Cancer Society.
