Born in Navojoa, Sonora Mexico, Catarina grew up through most of her childhood in Tepic, Nayarit Mexico with her mother and two brothers. Catarina, despite being told by medical professionals that she could not conceive a family , was able to give birth to a son and a daughter. Her life would then take her to San Diego where she raised her two children and dedicated herself to becoming a homemaker.
Catarina was a devoted wife and mother who always placed others above herself. She was a devout Catholic who lived a very personal but full spiritual life. She embodied the essence of what it is to live . Her presence would always light up a room and she touched everybody who she met with her zest for life, her love of dancing and her enduring spirit.
