She was born in Baja CA on Jan. 24, 1943 to Raul and Concepcion Rodriguez. She was the fourth child with two more siblings to follow.
Delia did her elementary school in Point Loma area of San Diego. The family later moved to National City. She graduated from Sweetwater H.S. and took some college courses at Southwestern College.
She married John Lewis Anderson on May 11, 1963. Her family of four boys kept her busy as a PTA mom, Cub Scouts, boy scouts and little league mom. In addition, she took great pride in baking special birthday cakes and buying piñatas for all the boys’ birthdays.
When time allowed, she had a passion for bowling joining a league with her mother and two sisters. In addition, she made time to garden having been blessed with a green thumb.
Later in life, she started a career with Home of Guiding Hands, as a house manager for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. She was well suited for this career with her sweet nature and calming personality.
Delia is survived by three sons; John, Donald and Robert predeceased by her son Charles.
Surviving her include grandchildren; Angela Couch, Kyle Anderson, Kayla Anderson, Hay Leigh Anderson two great-grandchild Nolan Couch and Marilyn Couch. Numerous nieces and nephews, and one sister Rosemary Rodriguez.
In addition to those related by blood, Delia claimed and loved numerous other individuals as her own family. She opened her heart and home giving love and comfort with hugs and warm homemade flour tortillas!
She will be remembered as a loving and caring “Nana” to those who crossed her path.
Her sudden passing leaves us broken hearted but ever so grateful for having had her in our lives.

A viewing & Vigil for Delia will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910. A funeral mass will occur Monday, January 15, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Jude's Catholic Church, 3785 Boston Ave., San Diego, CA 92113. A cryptside committal will occur Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Greenwood Memorial Park, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego, CA.
