Elena Garcia Cantero

Elena married the love of her life, Antonio A. Cantero on March 5, 1959. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage and 9 children; 5 daughters and 4 sons. Antonio predeceased Elena on August 31, 2011. In addition, their son Apolinar G. Cantero also predeceased his mother.

Elena was a proud and dedicated homemaker to her large family. She enjoyed cooking their favorite dishes and making sure they were well cared for. She also managed to find time for her favorite hobbies of gardening and crocheting. She was especially happy when the grandchildren and great grandchildren started to arrive, more children to love and carry on her family legacy.

Elena is survived by her children; Martha Cantero, Margaret Moreno, Gloria Martinez, Irma Jaimes, Maria Elena Cantero, Antonio Cantero, Elias Cantero and Freddy Cantero. Her 16 surviving grandchildren; Lamont Cantero, Joshua Cantero, Marisha Moreno, Natasha Moreno, Angel Martinez, Viviana Carranza,

Bridget Martinez, Armando Jaimes, Monica Molina, Irma Elena Jaimes, David Cantero, Daniel Cantero,

Mario Acosta, Angel Contreras, Aaron Contreras and Alexis Contreras. Grandson Giovanny Cantero predeceased his grandmother on June 16, 2017.

In addition, there are 14 surviving great-grandchildren; Adrian Cantero, Josh Cantero, Kelea Cantero,

Christian Cantero, Kiki Carranza, Crisantos Carranza, Gabriel Carranza, Annakaren De la Vega Martinez, Juan Molina, Juliana Molina, Victoria Molina, Michael Molina, Bella Jaimes and Sarah Moreno.

A visitation & celebration of life for Elena will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Chula Vista. Following the service, family will take Elena to her eternal resting place to join her beloved husband at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, California 92102.
