Fernando Lopez, 63 old, of Chula Vista, passed away on January 1, 2015. He was born in the Philippines on March 27, 1951. Fernando graduated from Castle Park High School. He was formerly married to Colleen Beatrice Beach, and was blessed with two daughters, Rachael Marrie and Dawn Elise. Fernando worked as an electrician and served in Vietnam as a member of The United States Marine Corp. Fernando had a passion for motorcycles and computers. He also enjoyed spending quality family time with his parents and two girls.
Fernando lived a life of struggle in a world of general hardships that comes from building a life in a world where kindness is too rare. His name will never be in bold print in the newspaper, but there is so much to learn from his life. Instead of judgment, compassion should be our default setting. Though heroes will be known for fearless feats, there are many types of courage...including the quiet, constant faith to endure. May your soul forever rest in peace, Nando.
Fernando is survived by his daughters, Rachel Marie Jarrell and Dawn Elise Lopez, his parents, Wilfreda and Emiliano Lopez, brothers Emsley Lopez and Emiliano Lopez Jr. and sister, Jennifer Lopez. His legacy also includes 3 grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, January 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1245 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, California, 91911.
