

In 1954 he was ordained as a Catholic Priest, in the religious Order of the Congregation of the Passionist. In 1967, Gail entered the US Army where he proudly and honorably served as a Catholic Chaplain for 22 years; retiring from the Army in 1989. From 1989 to 1995 Gail served as a chaplain at Little Company of Mary Catholic Hospital in Torrance, CA. In 1995, Gail resigned from the Community of the Passionist after 41 years of service.
Jim, as we affectionately call him, is survived by his beloved wife, Jacquelyn S. Robinson, of nearly 20 wonderful years; six step children George, David (Vanessa), Vincent (Pamela), Saundra, James and Patricia Fitzgerald; six step-grandchildren: Chantelle, Meagan, JB Fitzgerald, Christopher, Marcus Gilmore and Lauren Fitzgerald and a host of step-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by five nieces and nephews: Rita Fishbeck (Alan), Mary Bolton, James Bolton (Vickie), Lawrence Bolton (Sue) and Timothy Bolton.
Mass and Memorial Service will be held on Dec. 8th, 2014 at 10am at Mater Dei Catholic Church located at 1615 Mater Dei Drive, Chula Vista, CA, followed by his Interment at Miramar National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
We will conclude with the Repast held at Miramar Officers’ Club on the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, located at 4472 Anderson Ave, San Diego, CA 92145.
