Gloria A. Bunch

GLORIA A. BUNCH a long time resident of Chula Vista passed away on Sunday, September 30th with her loving family by her side. Gloria was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1948 to Narvel Privett of Kentuckey and Catherine Matera of Michigan.She is survived by her loving family, husband Thomas(Tom), sons Kurt and Derek, daughter-in-laws Maria and Lorie, grandchildren Ashley and Sylvia, sisters Loretta Anderson ( Richard ) and Wanita Privett and nephews Charlie Privett, Phillip Navock (Dion)

Gloria and her two sisters, Loretta and Wanita would spent their younger years playing in their grandmother's garden in Detroit. A garden with vegetables and beautiful pots of flowers everywhere.

She married Tom and they raised two boys, Kurt and Derek. Gloria and her family moved to California in 1966 living in both Anaheim and Temecula before moving to Chula Vista in 1984.

She was a very enthusiastic President of the Chula Vista Garden Club. During her administration 25 new members joined the club. Gloria was instrumental in securing the Chula Vista Centennial Geranium and spent a great deal of time advertising it at many events leading up to and throughout the city's centennial year.

A tireless volunteer for the museum, library and Historic Home Tour and library, Gloria will be dearly missed.

A viewing and a Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, October 5th in the Serenity Chapel located at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with the service starting at 7:00pm
