Ruth Williams was Jimmy's grandmother and the sister of my grandfather, Gerald Williams. Grandmother Etta, Gerald's wife, kept us abreast of the history of the Williams family. Jimmy was a part of that history. My grandmother Etta loved Jimmy very much.  So, when I met Jimmy - later in his life - his  place in the family and all the remembrances had preceded him. Jimmy was everything grandmother Etta said, and more. He was a kind and thoughtful man.  Jimmy was authentic; he never tried to be anything other than "who he was" - which was an innocent child of God, he was perfect. I asked Jimmy to suggest a good AA meeting for me: he went above and beyond, taking me personally to the meetings. Jimmy was very detail conscious; I hired him for specialty bookkeeping and he always came through for me.  Jimmy visited our aunt Betty at least twice in Washington state before she died. Jimmy held a very special place in aunt Betty's heart as well as grandmother Williams (Etta). Jimmy was to be with us, O'Connell's, on Christmas day. He texted us that morning he couldn't make it; he would "tell us why later". I texted Jimmy he missed a wonderful Christmas dinner and that we all missed him. I never heard back from him. Jimmy held a special place in my heart. It is the end of an era with Jimmy's passing. Jimmy was our special connection to the Williams family. I still cannot believe he's gone. While I remain in this human form I will miss my friend, Jimmy...We loved him so much. - The O'Connell's 

I was saddened to discover that Jim had passed away. You were such a kind and gentle person. You will be missed by all!

Great memories of happy times from early childhood through academy. Thank you for being authentic. I loved your kind, cheerful, mischievious, friendship. Rest in the Savior's arms until we meet again in a world made new.

You were definitely an innovator.  I remember when you were working the switchboard at the hospital, you wanted to reinvent the dial to a more user friendly way. I hope you had a very rewarding life.

What great class we had at San Diego Union Academy.  Rest in peace friend.
