Leon Zuniga of San Diego, California passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2012 with his family by his side. Leon is survived by his Children sons Richard, Larry, David, Chris Zuniga, daughters Jenny Landeros, Rose Valenzuela, Maria Elenas Arenas, 26 grandchildren,29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Leon was born on April 11, 1923 in Deming, New Mexico to Emilio and Maria Zuniga. Leon came from a large family of 20 children. Leon joined the United States Army/Air core in 1943 to 1945 and flew for the 342d Bomb Squadron and separated from the military as a Sergeant. After the military Leon became a long shoreman for over 40years.
A viewing will take place on Thursday, January 31st from 5:00 to 9:00 in the Serenity Chapel located at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey and a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 2nd at 11:00 in the Serenity Chapel followed by Military Honors @ 1:00 pm at Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
