Leonardo Marquez

LEONARDO MARQUEZ, 79 years old, of San Diego, passed away on August 18, 2013. Leonardo was a native San Diegan born to Victor and Aurora Marquez on July 28, 1934. He married Petra Marquez in 1955 and formed a family with daughters Sandra and

Rosa. In 2002 his wife Petra predeceased him. Leonardo remarried Maria Del Carmen. Leonardo had a long career of 39 years working at NASSCO. His passions in life were his family and his love of baseball. He played and served as an Assistant Baseball Coach for many years of his life.

Leonardo's legacy of survivors include his second wife, Maria, his daughters, Sandra Mendoza and Rosa Buenrostro, son-in-law Lorenzo Buenrostro and grandchildren; Marcos Leonardo, Edward Aaron, Michelle Mendoza, and Lorenzo Buenrostro Jr. One great-granddaughter Ava Rose Mendoza.

His step-children Edwich Angleth, Leslie Misael, and Ana Maria. His step-grandchildren; Owen, Cecy, Yadier, Lia, Raed, and David.

A visitation is scheduled at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California, 91910 on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 5~ 9 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. in the Serenity Chapel. A funeral mass is Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in San Ysidro, CA. Final resting place is La Vista Memorial Park in National City, CA.
