I had the privelege of getting to know Lupe this past year at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington, WA where she volunteered to help with my PreK-1st Grade Faith Formation Class. Lupe was such a joy in the classroom. She was well-liked by all, especially the children that she cared for (including my own 3 and 4-year-old).

Our parish offered Mass today in her memory, it was well attended. She will be remembered for the light that she was to us. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of her family and friends during this difficult time.

Lupe, it is still hard to believe you are no longer here.  Even though you moved away, any time you came to visit family here in, you always made it a point to connect with me when you could.  And each time we did connect, years could have gone by between visits, yet we talked as if we saw each other all the time.  You have never changed from the sweet funny girl you have always been.  We've been friends since elementary school at Las Palmas.  
In fact, i recently went back and read the text you sent me back in December,  and you wrote, "it amazes me that we've know each other for so many years, I wonder how long we can keep it going.  If we make it to the age of electric scooters, i'll race you".  
Well my friend, i'll have to race you once I make it to heaven with you!
