Maria "Lucy" L. Cisneros

Maria De La Luz Cisneros, 65 years of age, affectionately known as "Lucy", passed away on April 28, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones. Lucy was a long time resident of San Ysidro and was born in San Diego to parents Jose and Maria Covarrubias on November 19, 1951.

Lucy married the love of her life, Rafael B. Cisneros, on August 23, 1973. They were blessed with 44 years of marriage and four children; Antonio, Veronica and twins Lorena and Rafael. Lucy dedicated her life to being a stay-at-home mom and taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking their favorite dishes and seeing that their needs were met. When the grandchildren came, she was happiest when spending time with them. Her favorite times also included family vacations which took them to Guadalajara, Mexico, where her roots originated.

Lucy is survived by her husband, Rafael B. Cisneros, her children; Antonio Cisneros, Veronica Cisneros, Lorena Cisneros and Rafael Cisneros III. In addition, her legacy includes 4 surviving grandchildren; Antonio Cisneros Jr. Alejandra Elena Cisneros, Rafael Cisneros IV and Farah Abigail Cisneros. Lucy will also be greatly missed by extended family members and friends who loved her caring nature and beautiful smile.

A celebration of life visitation service will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Lucy's parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 2020 Alaquinas Drive, San Ysidro, California, 92173 on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. A funeral procession will follow the mass to her eternal resting place at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California, 91902.
