

She was born to Manuela Lopez and Gregorio Ibanez in Guadalajara, Mexico. She grew up with her maternal grandmother, grandfather, aunts, and uncles. She was raised by their side and cherished the memories she made with them. Luz was the eldest of 3 children followed by a younger brother and sister, Rafael Rodriguez and Julieta Haralson.
At 10 years old, Luz came to Tijuana, Mexico where she attended elementary and middle school. During her teen years, she met her husband and the love of her life, Hector Tirado. Luz and Hector shared 65 years together and had 6 children; Hector Jr, Jorge, Sergio, Marco, Araceli, and Omar Tirado; 16 grandchildren; Jaime, Sergio Jr, Josue, Marco Jr, Christian, Gabriel †, Vanessa, Briana, Bianca, Adrian, Alexa, Omar Jr, Ivanna, Christopher, Abriana, and Isabella; and 12 great grandchildren. Luz was affectionately known as Mamaluz to everyone especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Luz and Hector’s love story continued in Chula Vista where they built a life and continued to nurture their family. Luz loved to cook for her family and was amazing at it. Her specialty was her famous fried rice. She enjoyed gardening; everything she touched came to life and was beautiful. Her home was always surrounded by greenery and flowers, even the most difficult plants thrived under her care. Just like her mom, Luz liked going to the casino and always had luck on her side. Some of her favorite foods were pizza and anything that consisted of bread. However, her ultimate guilty pleasure was having a Coke with crushed iced.
After Hector retired, they moved to Tecate, Mexico where they made beautiful memories. Their life at the ranch in Tecate was special and an integral part of their love story. They constantly had visitors and hosted many gatherings. Luz loved to listen to music and enjoyed sharing special moments with her family and friends.
Luz’s favorite prayer was the Padre Nuestro. She remembered the prayer and would try her hardest to recite it up until her very last day. Luz was our angel on Earth. She showed us the true meaning of love and demonstrated what unconditional love really feels like. Her motherly aura was felt by everyone. She was greatly cherished from afar and had an unfailing connection to all her Stockton relatives. Luz radiated with light and had a warm special energy that touched everybody.
Her happiness was seeing her family together and united. She was surrounded by her family on her last day and was played her favorite songs.
She will be greatly missed. Her spirit and love will continue to live on.
María Luz Tirado, de 85 años, falleció en paz rodeada de sus familiares el 1 de marzo de 2025. Hasta el final, mostró su amor inquebrantable e incondicional a todos.
Nació en Guadalajara, México, hija de Manuela López y Gregorio Ibáñez. Creció junto a su abuela materna, su abuelo, tías y tíos. Fue criada por ellos y atesoró los recuerdos que creó a su lado. Luz fue la mayor de tres hermanos, seguida por su hermano menor y su hermana, Rafael Rodríguez y Julieta Haralson.

Luz era cariñosamente conocida como Mamáluz por todos, especialmente por sus nietos y bisnietos.
La historia de amor de Luz y Héctor continuó en Chula Vista, donde construyeron su vida y siguieron formando su familia. Luz adoraba cocinar para su familia y era excelente en ello. Su especialidad era su famoso arroz frito. También disfrutaba de la jardinería; todo lo que tocaba cobraba vida y se volvía hermoso. Su hogar siempre estaba rodeado de plantas y flores, incluso las plantas más difíciles prosperaban bajo su cuidado. Al igual que su madre, a Luz le gustaba ir al casino y siempre tenía la suerte de su lado. Algunas de sus comidas favoritas eran la pizza y cualquier cosa que incluyera pan. Sin embargo, su mayor placer culposo era tomar una Coca-Cola con hielo triturado.
Después de que Héctor se jubiló, se mudaron a Tecate, México, donde crearon hermosos recuerdos. Su vida en el rancho de Tecate fue especial y una parte integral de su historia de amor. Constantemente recibían visitas y organizaban reuniones. A Luz le encantaba escuchar música y compartir momentos especiales con su familia y amigos.
Su oración favorita era el Padre Nuestro. La recordaba y se esforzaba por recitarla hasta su último día. Luz fue nuestro ángel en la Tierra. Nos enseñó el verdadero significado del amor y nos demostró lo que realmente se siente el amor incondicional. Su presencia era cálida, protectora y reconfortante para todos. Profundamente querida, incluso a la distancia, y tenía un lazo inquebrantable con todos sus familiares en Stockton. Luz irradiaba luz y poseía una energía cálida y especial que tocaba a todos los que la rodeaban.
Su mayor felicidad era ver a su familia reunida. Su último día estuvo rodeada de sus seres queridos y escuchando sus canciones favoritas.
La extrañaremos profundamente. Su espíritu y su amor seguirán viviendo en todos nosotros.
