Mirta Ruth Holz

A memorial service for Mirta will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with the ceremony starting at 3:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910. We invite you to wear bright and colorful attire to celebrate her life.

Mirta Holz was a committed teacher at Nestor Elementary School in the South Bay Unified School District, specializing in Bilingual education. She received the Teacher of The Award on 1990-1991 for her contribution and creating "History Alive" yearly event. She retired in 2009 after 30 years of teaching at Nestor. Today, her students remember her and recognize her voice and likeness in our community.

Mirta Holz earned Master of Arts Education from San Diego State University on May 28, 1987. It was an exciting moment for Mirta and family who loved her, she believe and lived by this quote, "Si se puede! Pasion y disciplina = exito."

She had many passions in her life including traveling and dancing Salsa with her partner Jose Espinosa, latest fashion trends, colorful home decor, tai-chi, and most recently flamenco dancing with Flamenco Sur performance group. She loved all her family and hosting special events to create life long memories and experiences in her beautiful home.

Survived by her daughter, son, and one granddaughter.
