He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on February 3, 1922 to Peter and Hansine Hansen.
Palle graduated from Texas A & M and received his Doctorate in Oceanography.
Palle married Catherine Dunn Hansen on November 25, 1953. Palle worked as an Oceanographer for the U.S.
Government-Naval Ocean System Center. He was a member of Toastmasters and had a passion for playing bridge.
Palle is survived by his wife of sixty years, Catherine, his daughter Christine Kautz, and his son Eric Hansen.
His legacy include his grandchildren Matthew Kautz, Rebecca Dass, and great-grandchildren Judith Dass and Isaac Dass.
