Phyllis, a long time resident of San Diego County, led a long and fulfilled life. One of her later-in-life passions was her dedication to crafts. She was a member of the San Diego Miniature Crafters where she excelled in creating miniature doll house furniture, such as chairs and chandeliers. She became renown in her trade and was promoted for trade shows around the world. She loved to travel and experience different cultures, and she has passed through every time zone in the world.
Phyllis, or "Grammy" as she was known affectionately within the family, dedicated most of her adult life to being a terrific wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend. No one can remember anyone who did not like her, and she was loved if not adored by many. A truly one-of-a-kind, loving person, there's no substitute, and the world has a big hole in it now with her passing. We'll all look forward to reuniting with her on the other side.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Richard Nissen, son, Mark Nissen, his wife, Ann Nissen, two grandsons, Zachary Erik Nissen and Jacob Alexander Nissen, in addition to her nephew and nieces.
