Reynaldo Ebreo Castro, 82, of San Diego, California, passed away on April 6, 2026. Born on April 27, 1943, in San Juan, La Union, Philippines, Reynaldo lived a full and remarkable life defined by service, love, and an unwavering devotion to family.
Reynaldo enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968 and went on to serve his adopted country with distinction for 29 years. He worked his way up from the ranks of E1-E8 before commissioning to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CWO2) with the Supply Corps and ultimately retiring at the rank of CWO4 in 1997. His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and was presented the Ney award for food service excellence while serving aboard USS BELLEAU WOOD (LHA 3).
On May 9, 1971, Reynaldo married the love of his life, Florcerpida Dimacuha from Indang Cavite, Philippines. Together they built a beautiful family. HIs proudest moments were watching the family grow, as his two sons brought him five granddaughters and one grandson whom he loved and cherished dearly.
Reynaldo had an infectious smile that lit up any room he walked into. His sense of humor, generosity, and caring nature made people gravitate toward him, and he had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, even those meeting him for the first time. After retiring from the Navy, he enjoyed playing basketball, traveling, gardening, hanging out with his dog, and shopping for his favorite brands at outlet malls such as Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo, and Nautica.
A man of deep and abiding faith, Reynaldo was heavily involved with his local church, serving as a eucharistic minister, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a volunteer donut server. He was also a proud member of the Masons. His faith carried him through life and remains a comfort to all who loved him.
