I want to say thank youuuuuuu po. For sharing your inspiring history, to your jokes that made us joyous and for always reminding us to pray and be thankful for everything that we have... It's hard to process that you're physically gone but I know spiritually you're here watching and guiding us above with Him po. I remembered the day you're here, when you're taking a nap and farted so loud, so alarming while Ateng Mhai and me hiding beside the bed while we’re watching something on iPad, the familiar bullfrog noise made us looked each other and laughed as we hold our lips to prevent sound  yet it wakes you up and you joined us laughed. I still remembered the golden anniversary, you'd always asked me a question "whose daughter are you?" And I jokingly answered "of course, to Connie!" that always made you laughed so hard po. It feels good to reminisce. It feels good to turned back time and repeat the past but if ever this will repeated it could be a story. Story of your greatness sharing to the future. Today, I will always look up to you saying  thank you for creating a memory in our hearts and mind. Thank you for kissing our cheeks when the priest said "let us offer each other the sign of peace." Thank you po! Thank you so so much! You never failed to expressed how much you cared and loved us. I love you so... so... so much po! I know you're smiling up there with Jesus showering you kisses and whispering you I love you as you expressed to us before. Thank you po! I love you!

My grandparents... I was flipping through pictures to find a reading for your funeral grandpa and found this 8/12/19. We seriously thought you were going to be with us longer.  
I hope my marriage will be like yours and grandma, one crazy loving couple that may have their differences but at the same time it was like my brothers say, it’s all for the family.  We love you so so much

To add on top of that, you only had one set of clothes. When you were in the hospital bed you told me that you would ask your friend to read their textbook for a class you weren’t even in because you felt that any information would help you. All this hard work you put in to get an education led you to a government job for your own barangay. Us grandchildren can’t imagine having to deal with so many obstacles just to go to school, so we have no excuse to get a good education. This sacrifice was the key to starting a family of your own. You were able to raise 5 kids who follow your values and created an army of grandkids whom all look up to you. After constant reflecting on your life, I found that your decision for letting mom marry dad was a blessing in disguise. You were first hesitant with dad because of the age gap, but you saw the love and care he had to offer to mom. If you didn’t say yes, your family wouldn’t have the opportunity to take on the American Dream. So we’d like to thank you for making such a blessed decision and of course my dad as well for serving our country. I know it may sound weird but I believe you are the Manny Pacquiao of our family. You’re not one of the best boxers of all time neither a senator in the Philippines no matter how much you look like it, but you sure were a fighter. You would argue with everyone usually about family values. It would be hard to fight back, but in the end you just wanted everyone to learn and emphasize love and respect through your intense lessons. Not only were you a fighter through your voice but you were a fighter with your health. No matter how sick you were, you still felt strong. Dear our beloved grandpa,

I’ve never thought I’d stand before you as you watch from above so soon. It felt like it was just yesterday when you drove me to my first day of school. It felt like it was yesterday that I’d come with you to seafood city so you can fill out a lotto ticket and then take me to sari sari store so you can get me a toy. It felt like yesterday we celebrated your golden anniversary with grandma. Everything happened so fast, but it’s only right to share to everyone how much of an amazing person you are. There was one thing that would always make you happy and that was God’s blessing of family. In your apartment the only decorations you have is a bunch of pictures of your family. As a child you’d always be in your room playing solitaire while one of your home videos from a cassette was showing family events from the Philippines.  I remember one day, you called me over to your room because one of the cassettes you were playing said on the bottom right my birth date which is May 16. When I was watching the cassette  I saw that our family back in Philippines were building a house and they were all saying happy birthday to me. As I got older you upgraded from a cassette player to a laptop, and you were finally able to contact you family easily through Facebook instead of using a number used to call the Philippines for only 30 minutes. I miss the old days where you and grandma were the legendary tag team for your grandchildren when most of us were still in elementary. Grandma would be the one who’d make us breakfast, and then you were the one who’d drop us off to school in your corolla. You would make sure we all got to school on time and returned home safely. I remember you telling my brother and I that you used to work in the rice fields back when you lived in the Philippines, but you felt that getting an education was better for your future. From what you told us, getting an education during your time was very difficult. I cannot imagine always walk

Uncle Roger, death may have taken you away from us but it could never take away your memories.You will always be in my heart in your own special place.Rest in peace Uncle Roger. Thank you for the love and care you gave to me , especially when I was still a little girl until now.The day before you left, nakapagchat pa tayo ng Tuesday morning, tapos nung Thursday nun I received a sad news from Jeng that you're gone. I miss our chats every morning. Masakit iku makapaniwala, likuan mo na kami. But you're free now from all the pain and sickness. I know you will watch over us from heaven like you always do, kahit malayo ka samin parang laging nandiyan ka pa rin. Till we meet again, Uncle Roger. We love you and miss you every single day.

Hello Granpa. We weren’t together for much, only during the times you visit the country which only happen for a couple of weeks.  But we were able to create many amazing memories. I remember every time I go out or have some business outside, you make sure to spray me with your perfume. And when we’re out for some bonding time, you always deliver your undying dialogues saying, “Ai kapale ne? Ai ot mknyan”.. When someone is looking for somebody even if you’re not the one they’re looking for, you always answer with, “Oi nanu keni. Folllowed by your charismatic smile, the kind of smile that makes everything seem fine. You always remind us to finish out studies. Grandpa, I have graduated. But I am sorry I failed the board exam. Nonetheless, endless thank you for your support and care for us. Now we won’t receive chats anymore that always goes like this: “Kamusta na kayu. Ok thank ingat kau lagi miss/love God bless you always” Granpa, thank you very much. No more pain po. Always watch after me from above, please. I miss you and i love you Granpa😢

Po, you are the best of the best. We may have shared little memories with you, but all those memories made our childhood special. You may be physically far from us but you always make us feel closer whenever you send us messages, like “gudam/pm musta nakayu ken” and “take care. Godbless. Loveyou always”

I may not be the best grandchild you had but never did I felt that way from you. You always make things comfortable whenever we are with you. You always praise us like we’re the best. At this moment adding a memory on your obituary is just the hardest thing a daughter would do. Lossing you is lossing a part of me, Pa. I wasn’t ready yet...you promise me(us) na galing ka pa, that together we’ll conquer this serious illness. You’ve been so strong for us and showed us a lot of hopes. But you turned around and decided the other way. It hurts Pa, atna king kasakit Pa, but I understand coz even at the last moment of your life your love, patience, understanding, sacrifices, & care for us were deeply felt., even ngening ala naka physically with us. These wonderful gilfts you instilled in everyone of us are more precious than anything in this world, Salamat PA😭These will live on in our lives and in our hearts.

To my father in law, a thank you isn’t enough to say for how much you have done for us. You have provided so much care and love to everybody around you especially my kids and my husband. I truly appreciate that.  You have always supported us through tough times and just through any time.  I know you are in a good place now.  We love you so much. We miss you papa. 

My grandpa, Rogelio M. Dabu Sr., is one of the most inspiring and loving individuals I know. All he needed to make himself happy in life was seeing his family being happy. Grandpa sacrificed a lot so he can get a good education and raise his own family. Him sacrificing a lot led him to have five successful kids and an army of grandkids whom altogether love and are inspired from all the things grandpa has done for us. As a grand child, grandpa would always take care of me when my parents were at work. Grandpa was the person who would always bring me to grade school and keep me safe during my childhood. We’ve shared many memories that I will treasure forever. And most importantly we will never forget all his sacrifices and love he’s put upon his family. May he Rest In Peace with our love and support.

Grandpa, thank you for all the love and support you have given me,..and your entire family and friends. You set a perfect example of what it means to give it your all for the family and God. Through your love, sacrifices, strength, and perseverance you have given us through God’s grace, you are an inspiration and blessing to us all.  I will miss all the life lessons, life stories, helping you, helping me, and you just being by our side but I can rest knowing your living your eternal life happily in heaven.
