Dear Pat,  
Ron was one of the truly unique people we have ever known.  We were so lucky to have moved in a few doors from you and Ron when we moved from the east coast. 
 Ron and Dave shared many common interests. one of them was a love of jigsaw puzzles.  They would work on them together as well as trade puzzles back and forth.
Ron had a very dry sense of humor.  Whenever we all went out to eat, he would grab the check, look at it, and then proclaim in a loud voice - "THE FOOD WAS GOOD BUT NOT THAT GOOD!"  Sometimes that drew the attention of the restaurant manager who hurried over to inquire about what the problem was.
Each fall, while Dana and Eric were still sub-teenagers, we would look forward to our annual trip with Ron and you to the Cuyamaca Mountains for an early morning breakfast cookout and a short mountain hike.  
We will all miss Ron very much but we will never forget the fond memories of Ron that we shall carry with us for the rest of our lives.
