Ron you will always be my big brother. I will remember your sense of humor and all the great times we had growing up. I know you're with mom in a better place now. I love you and miss you.

Ronby was my first friend since the first grade. After his family moved to bonita, he stayed at our house for years.We have countless memories that will never be forgotten. Two weeks before he passed, he came to tell me there was nothing they can do for him and that he wasnt going to make it through 2013. Then he spoke his mind about his entire family, his wishes after he passes. He asked me about "the better place". If it exists. "Yes of course ! I said, because I believe you have to ho through hell to get to heaven.  I also say that after his passing, a little bit of each one of us went also. His spirit has gone to the better and he will be waiting to unite with his family in bonita and his family in Chula Vista.

You will always live in our hearts and prayers.

RON, Yes Mr Charger man #1, always was and will be a charger fan forever. We all wore our Charger gear on those days. Woodlawn ave will never be the same without Ron being always around. 

It is during times of great loss that we realize how limited words can be and how special our friends truly are. We hope you hear the words we cannot speak, for words can do no justice to the heartache your family have suffered. Uncle Ron I miss u sooooo much words don't even describe. You were such a funny guy and one of a kind there is nobody like Ron. We have so many fun memories together that I will never forget (: u were always my favorite uncle u been there since day 1 when I was born in the hospital I remember that story u told me lol. Thank you for everything u have done for me & my family u were such a great guy I can't believe your gone it doesn't feel like it I wish you didn't leave us so soon but I know your in a better place looking down at us with a smile on your face (: you will always be alive in my heart<3I miss the times when u would go my high school b-ball games and cheer me on! Lol goodtimes! You were my dads best friend u guys would always talk about football and I know he misses that :( Ron was such a smart guy always gave good advice. The chargers season started that was your team right now it's 1-1 let's go chargers! Even tho I'm a steeler fan lol. Ron, you were a good brother and my best friend growing up. I have such great memories of us playing Little League together, street football on Woodlawn Ave., attending Harborside Elementy, Chula Vist Jr.High and Chula Vista High School. You always were the mayor of Woodlawn Ave. I'll miss you! Until I see you again, Rest in Peace Ron.

My condolences to the Raney family.  I grew up on the same block as the Raneys.  I will always remember Ronnie riding around on his bike and helping people in the neighborhood.  Woodlawn Ave. will not be the same without him. Rest in peace Ronnie.

I send my prayers and thoughts to the Raney Family. Ronnie (as I know him) was a quite but sweet person to me throughout our school years.           I remember that little smile with that little chuckle. RIP my friend.

Rons service will be held on Oct 2, Wed at 10:30, at Rosecrans national. We would be pleased to have guests there to honor Ron.

Born 4-13-1959 passed away on Tuesday 9-3-2013 in Chula Vista, CA.  Ron was born and raised in Chula Vista and graduated Chula Vista High, class of 1977. Ron served in the military, and a received honorable discharge. He was born to Patricia (Passed) and Lawrence Raney, and leaves behind many family and friends. He leaves behind his dad Lawrence and brother Danny (Dina) Ross, with nieces Chloe and Phoebe of Novato CA, Larry (Becky) Raney of Bellingham WA, David Raney, with nieces Rikki (Craig) and Samatha, Sisters Stephanie Raney with niece Nicole (Aaron) and Theresa (Darrell) Hanson with niece, Kacie and nephews Lucas, and Noah.
